Abstract:

Reactive units and intermediates that are relevant on the surfaces of vanadiumoxide-based catalysts during oxygenation / dehydrogenation of organic substrates are to be modelled in their structures and functions.
For simulating the oxo-surfaces two different types of potential ligands will be used: calixarenes and silsequioxanes.
As a result insight in reaction mechanisms and information about the characteristics of the catalysts mentioned above are expected.
Furthermore, simple, non-ligated oxovanadium-aggregates are being matrixisolated, characterized by vibrational spectroscopy and tested for their reactivity towards organic substrates.
